Daily routine charts
For all the curious and data oriented parents with newborns, Le Baby offers another perspective on their baby journal. These 24 hours charts show when bottle feeding, breastfeeding, diaper change, and sleep have occurred during the day, day after day.
These new charts provide parents with a simple, legible, and insightful view on their baby growth. They are accessible by tapping the "24h" icon in the charts menu. Each entry type can then be displayed or hidden to improve legibility.
Similar to a calendar view of each day, they visually confirm the feeling parents have from the first weeks: intense. But they also show how eating and sleeping patterns emerge from this frenzy. Bottle feeding and breastfeeding entries start to form wavy lines, some of which disappear as meals become less frequent with time, while others start to flatten.
The path to uninterrupted nights and 4 meals a day can be long, and these new graphs show parents this goal is getting closer, despite what they experience during their busy days and nights.
In addition to the day by day charts, a weekly view is showing the frequency of an entry type for each hour of the day, for every week. It provides an overview of a few months of feeding and sleeping entries in the width of an iPhone, for the parents who have a regular and long lasting recording habit.
We would like to thank all the parents who were kind enough to share their baby journals with us, so we could confront our ideas with their reality. It was remarkable how every journal we received is different and singular. This validated the idea that using a baby app to record entries is a form of story telling. A baby tracker can be a tool to build an object that one will have a deep emotional connection to for the rest of their life.
